180° South directed by Chris Malloy, which follows adventurer Jeff Johnson as he retraces the epic 1968 journey of his heroes Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins to Patagonia.

This January, SYRCL’s 9th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival returns with another incredible selection of films to change your world.  Each year, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival draws top filmmakers, celebrities, leading activists, social innovators and well-known world adventurers to the historic downtown of Nevada City, California.

Considered the largest film festival of its kind, this year’s films combine stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation.  Festival-goers can expect to see Award-winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, agriculture, and Native American and indigenous cultures.  Plus enjoy children’s Saturday morning cartoons, art shows, VIP parties, live music and more.

Tickets go on sale the beginning of December.  Festival passes make excellent gifts for those “progressive and sophisticated film and outdoor enthusiasts committed to living a more sustainable lifestyle” in your life.

3 Ways You Can Get Involved with this year’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival!

2.  Support – Each year the Wild and Scenic Film Festival is made possible through the generous contributions of our sponsors.  Sponsorship dollars get put right to work – to buy gaffer’s tape, projectors, extension cords – the real-world thing it takes to pull of the film festival.  In return sponsors can expect to see a return on their investment through an increase in audience, brand awareness, and potential sales.
