Don’t Frack California!

December 5, 2012

Would you like to be more involved in the conversation on fracking on the West Coast? Join the Center for Biological Diversity and community members in Sacramento on Wednesday, Dec. 12th at 9AM at a public protest on fracking in California. On Dec. 12 the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will put more than 17,000 acres of California public wildlands up for auction and throw it open to oil and natural gas drilling and fracking.

Fracking hurts both people and wildlife. It threatens our climate by releasing large quantities of methane and makes previously inaccessible fossil fuels available for combustion.

The BLM plans to auction off the rights to drill and frack our public land. The Center for Biological Diversity is organizing a creative protest to tell the BLM: “Don’t Frack Our Public Wildlands,” and we want you to join us. RSVP here

The 2013 Wild and Scenic Film Festival will be screening Jon Bowermaster’s new film Dear Governor Cuomo about the anti-fracking movement in New York. For more information on the film, visit the website:
Food & Water Watch will attend the festival to give audience members more information about the status of fracking in California.
