Los Ginger Ninjas Ride Mexico

2013 Official Selection

Early one winter morning, the rock band Los Ginger Ninjas—Nevada County locals—set out from home, destination southern Mexico. They had no van and no gigs, hauling their instruments, camping gear and 1000-watt human-powered sound system on cargo bicycles. Trusting a benevolent force they called the ‘golden bubble,’ the 7-month journey became a test of the Pleasant Revolution, their name for the tour and their hypothesis that the planet’s future depends on radical individual change. Los Ginger Ninjas are modern day troubadours, comic and dramatic characters who fall in and out of love, challenging the powers within and without as they pedal straight into the heart of Mexico’s storied dangers while trying to make it as a band heal the planet.
