Are you looking for THE FESTIVAL to PREMIERE your environmental film?
Or do you want your film to be featured at one of THE MOST LOVED film festival in the nation?
Imagine a weekend in a quaint and historic town nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Your film is playing side by side with some of the best environmental and adventure films out there. Your audience is a sophisticated and intelligent group of activists, adventurers, and film lovers who want to be inspired by your art. You are being treated like the VIP that you are: receiving praise for your film, hospitable local lodging, wonderful treats and beverages throughout the day, parties, workshops, and of course, lots of free schwag.
We could only be talking about the largest film festival of its kind in the United States, the Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival. Organized by the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL, pronounced 'circle'), the festival is an event for activists, by activists. We hope to stand apart from the hundreds of other festivals around the world by creating an event that is inspirational and hopeful. We want our guests to be inspired by the hard-hitting issues in your environmental films and then turn around and make a difference in their own communities. We want them to experience the thrill of climbing the highest peaks, kayaking the wildest rivers, and traveling the world through the beauty and excitement of adventure films.
We invite you to submit your films: animation, shorts, narratives, kids’ films, documentaries, and features. Foremost, we are looking for films that demonstrate a passion for the art form as well as a clear, potent, and above all, inspirational message. We feature environmental films that cover all issues, as well as adventure films from around the world. If your film is chosen for the 2011 Official Selection, you will be invited as our guest for the festival, January 14-16, 2011. You’ll have the opportunity to introduce your film, speak at filmmaker forums, attend parties, sell your film, and enjoy a variety of VIP benefits.
