Think outside the Box Store: Wild & Scenic Gifts
As November fades into December, the last weeks leading up to the Wild & Scenic Film Festival are speeding by. Beginning December 1st tickets will be on sale. Weekend passes make a creative and inspiring holiday gift – and weekend passes purchased prior to December 31, 2011 are only $99. Tickets will be available for purchase on our website and at the SYRCL office (216 Main Street downtown Nevada City). In addition tickets will be for sale at our Green Fire event December 4 at the Nevada Theatre. For more ticket information, visit our website.
Include some of our merchandise with your Wild & Scenic gifts – we will be selling travel mugs, sweatshirts, I ♥ the Yuba tees, and baby onesies, among other items prior to the festival and at our festival store. All purchases will benefit the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) that produces the Wild & Scenic Film Festival as a fundraiser. Not to encourage consumerism, but it is hard to drink coffee without a mug and kids can’t go naked in January.
Early next week our volunteer registration page will be up on our website. Register for a volunteer position and join the hundreds of volunteers that make the festival possible. Volunteer for one shift festival weekend in return for one free day pass of your choice.
Our film selections will be published on our website the first week of December. In addition to our traditional listing of films, we are also incorporating Festival Genius in the festival this year. Festival Genius allows you to browse our films and select the films you are interested in seeing. Based on those selections, Festival Genius creates a personalized schedule. Festival weekend, print your schedule, or use the Festival Genius iPhone app which directs you to the venues and saves your personalized schedule. For those of you who prefer to read our program over a cup of coffee and circle your favorite films, don’t worry! Hard copies of our program will still be available. We are working hard to cut down our paper printing this year, and invite you to take Festival Genius for a spin.
