We are thrilled to reveal the official artwork for the 2018 Wild & Scenic Film Festival. This artwork by the talented Shannon Kuguenko, represents our theme, Groundswell. At first glance, you may feel the tone of this image is slightly dystopian; something seems a bit off. We agree and can confirm the effect of this discolored landscape is intentional. Things are more than not quite right in the world and our collective action is needed to make meaningful change. This groundswell is a crescendo — the buildup required to realize the necessary environmental change on a global scale.
We hope you’ll join us January 11-15, 2018 to be a part of the groundswell that is the Wild & Scenic Film Festival. Come and watch inspiring films, connect with a community of individuals who want to actively participate in making change in our world, attend an activist workshop (or 10), take action on one of the many campaigns represented, and also celebrate successes.
You’ll see this image on all of Wild & Scenic’s 2018 materials from the poster to the festival badges. We hope every time you look at it you’ll be reminded that the time is now for communities to rise up, stand united, and challenge the systems that threaten our planet. You all play an essential role in the groundswell for the environmental movement.
