Art Submission Deadline This Sunday

Submissions are open through Sunday, November 6th.

Black-Box-Final-1.jpgSYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival, in collaboration with Nevada County Arts, is once again inviting artists from far and wide to submit their environmental artwork for possible inclusion at the 2017 Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA during the film festival January 12-16, 2017.

NC Arts Logo“Wild & Scenic uses environmental and adventure film to inspire activism and we are seeking art submissions that do the same.  Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that address a broad interpretation of the theme of ‘environment.’ The featured artwork enhances the immersive nature of the festival experience,” said Melinda Booth, Film Festival Director.

“We are seeking environmental artwork that delivers a meaningful message,” said Eliza Tudor, Executive Director Nevada County Arts. “There are a host of talented artists who are passionate about the environment, and we are excited to give them an opportunity to showcase their very best.”

Selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of environmental filmmakers, celebrities, social activists and more than 6,500 festival attendees. The final deadline to apply is November 6th.

Submission Categories
A41A8469Artists can enter up to five pieces per entry in a single category. The three categories are:

  • 2-Dimensional: All paintings, collages, mixed media, and panels with 1.5 inches or less of depth variation
  • 3-Dimensional: All sculpture and pieces with depth variations greater than 1.5 inches
  • Photography: All photography, including digital and film, color, black and white

Judges will award prizes to the top submissions in each category. Additionally, a special, separately-judged Student Category for submissions exists for artists age 19 or below.
