Don’t Just Make A Film, Make A Difference

Calling all filmmakers, storytellers, and activists

Mark your calendars for May 15, 2018: the date that you can begin submitting your films

to the 17th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival!

Do you have a compelling environmental or adventure film you want to share with the world? Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a platform for storytelling to make a real difference. At our core, we are a festival by activists for activists. We watch hundreds of films each year to find the best and most inspiring environmental and adventure films. Educational nature documentaries and adrenaline films are always welcome, but does your film stand apart from the rest? Does your film inspire and motivate, as well as entertain and educate?  Does your film offer solutions and actions, as well as uplift and empower? Does your film highlight the diversity of not only this planet’s astounding landscapes, but also the people who inhabit it?

Wild & Scenic is committed to finding films that celebrate diversity and give voice to those who may not normally be heard. We cannot achieve our mission of uniting the community to heal the earth without seeing the intersection of social justice with the environmental movement. If we want a better planet for all, we must invite and include all voices. Before submitting, please read our Statement of Inclusion about our commitment to diverse programming and a welcoming experience for festival-goers.

We welcome submissions from filmmakers and storytellers of all backgrounds, whether this is your first film or your twentieth. We encourage you to submit your work early and offer discounted entry fees the earlier you submit.

The 17th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival takes place January 17-21, 2019 in Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA. For more information about sharing your film with us for consideration in our 2019 festival, please check out our Submit Your Film page.
