We are thrilled to announce that Wild & Scenic Film Festival has added a new member to our family! We’d like to introduce you to Sarah Muskin, who joins the On Tour program as the Event Coordinator. Her main duty will be to ensure that our 200+ On Tour events around the country are supported in their Wild & Scenic event planning process. It’s a big job, and we think Sarah is just the gal for it!
Sarah grew up in coastal New England, and spent her summers exploring and working in the Green Mountains of Vermont. She graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY with a B.A. in Environmental Studies focusing on political ecology and earth science. As an undergraduate, Sarah traveled to Tanzania with the School of International Training to complete an independent study project about waterborne disease prevention education. Sarah moved to the Tahoe area in 2016 to work with two watershed non-profit organizations as their Education and Outreach Coordinator. Sarah is passionate about social justice, stewardship, and environmental health. She enjoys anything that will get her outside including: running, backpacking, exploring rivers, climbing, and reading.
Sarah came to Nevada City for the first time to attend the 2017 Wild & Scenic Film Festival, and was immediately enamored by this foothill town and the work SYRCL does. As luck would have it, Sarah became our Festival Assistant after hearing about the job opening through Theresa Huck, our On Tour Sales Manager, who had connected with Sarah over a sales call. Sarah did such an incredible job making our 16th annual event a success, that we kept her on board as SYRCL’s Administrative Assistant. But Wild & Scenic wasn’t done with Sarah just yet! The On Tour Event Coordinator position opened up and she blew us away with her get-it-done attitude, organizational skills, friendly and positive demeanor, and passion for our mission.
We look forward to having Sarah’s energy and experience on our team!
