Wild & Scenic is more than just a film festival, it is SYRCL’s largest fundraiser of the year and is one of the nation’s premiere environmental and adventure film festivals. More than 7,500 people attended and we hope that after this year’s fest, you feel as INSPIRED and MOTIVATED as we do to go out and make a difference in your community, and the world, all year round.
Our mission is to inspire people and unite communities to heal the earth. We show environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty,
the challenges facing our planet and the work organizations are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic both informs people about the state of the world and inspires them to take action. And in the spirit of this activism, SYRCL’s own Become A Dam Watchdog Campaign was able to hit a milestone this weekend with your help. Thanks to all of you, we were able to smash our weekend goal and obtain more than 1,300 signatures during the festival. Dam Watchdogs will help us scrutinize every angle of the Centennial Dam project and raise awareness of the impacts on the Yuba and Bear Rivers, water supply and wildlife. Thank you to everyone who stopped by a SYRCL outreach booth this weekend, listened, learned and signed.
Take a trip down memory lane and relive some of the fun, educational and downright silly moments from this year’s festival. View the full weekend gallery here.
