There are two more deadlines before submissions close for the 16th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival! A favorite among filmmakers and film lovers alike, Wild & Scenic screens only the finest environmental and adventure films and hosts activists, celebrities, filmmakers, and speakers. The event also includes a variety of happenings in town: free workshops, parties, wine tastings, book signings, street events, and art shows. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills, the beautiful and historic town of Nevada City is a perfect backdrop for this winter weekend of festivities. There is less than one month left to send us your films.
Late Deadline: September 4 ($50 submission fee)
Extended Deadline: September 24 ($65 submission fee)
Wild & Scenic Film Festival welcomes submissions from all backgrounds and skill levels. Our mission is to inspire activism with film – we believe that we need to include a diverse variety of perspectives in order to make real change. A few powerful voices should not speak for the majority of peoples on the planet. We screen adventure and environmental films from all over the world that illustrate our planet’s beauty, the challenges facing it, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. If we want a better planet for all, we must invite and include all voices.
We encourage film submissions from all skill-levels, backgrounds, and geographic locations.
We welcome all gender identities and expressions, races and ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, ages, geographic locations, ancestries, education levels, physical abilities and body types, mental abilities, political and religious backgrounds, sexual orientations, and all other identities represented among our diverse landscape to participate in and be a part of our festival.
We celebrate the differences between us and seek to improve our inclusivity efforts in every aspect of our event. Wild & Scenic welcomes your film submissions and we look forward to hearing your own unique voice.
